4-Ingredient Classic Popovers

Make perfectly puffy, golden-brown popovers every single time—with just 4 simple ingredients! These Classic Popovers are fabulous because they can be savory or sweet and are a fun and fancier alternative to buns, rolls, or bread. Try yours filled with eggs, ham, and cheese, strawberries and whipped cream, or even chicken salad with lettuce and tomatoes! Popovers are versatile and you wont believe how quickly you can whip them up with just 4 staple ingredients!

4-Ingredient Classic Popovers

To Make 12 Popovers:

1 ½ cup milk at room temperature (360 g)

1 ½ c all-purpose flour (180 g)

3 large eggs at room temperature (150 g)

½ tsp salt (3 g)

Optional: 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract (4 g) for sweet popovers

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Place popover pan or muffin pan into the oven to preheat as well. Whisk milk and flour until smooth, then add eggs and salt and whisk again until well combined. When oven has preheated and your pan is hot, removed pan from oven and well-oil or spray the bottom, sides, and rims of your pan to prevent your popovers from sticking. Buttering does not work as well! Pour popover into each well, filling about 2/3 full. Place into oven and bake for 20 minutes at 450 degrees, then without opening your oven (this could cause them to collapse!), reduce the temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and pierce each popover with a shart knife to release the steam. Remove from the pan to cool. Enjoy these popovers sweet (strawberries, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, powdered sugar) or savory (chicken salad, eggs, ham, etc). These are versatile and fun!
