One Hour Soft Sandwich Bread Recipe!

One Hour Soft Sandwich Bread Recipe!

This One Hour Soft Sandwich Bread recipe is one of my very favorites! It is homemade, soft sandwich bread, made from scratch, and ready in under an hour! It is the perfect recipe to make when you are short on time and need to get some bread ready in a hurry. These 2 loaves took me exactly 56 minutes to make from start to finish! So bread making can be easy and not time consuming! This recipe has saved me many times when I have forgotten to get bread started earlier in the day. Follow the simple step by step directions (easy enough for a beginner!), and have 2 loaves of bread ready in under an hour!!! Try it and let me know how you like this easy bread recipe!

Robyn on the Farm's One Hour Soft Sandwich Bread Recipe: (makes 2 loaves of bread)

  • 2 c lukewarm water (100-110 degrees) (480g)
  • ¼ c sugar or honey (50g sugar)
  • 1 ½ Tbs yeast (active dry or instant) (13.5 g yeast)
  • 2 Tbs melted butter or oil (28g)
  • 5 to 5 ½ c bread flour (start with 5 and add ¼ to ½ c more until your dough isn’t sticking) (600-660g)
  • 1 ½ tsp salt (9g)

Add ingredients in order listed to mixer or bowl. Knead on speed 2 for 5 minutes (or hand knead for 10 mins). Cover with warm, wet tea towel for 20 minutes. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees during this time. Divide dough and form into 2 loaves. Place in well-oiled bread pans and put directly into the oven (no 2nd rise required!). Bake for 28-30 minutes (your preference). In less than an hour, your 2 loaves of amazing, soft, fluffy sandwich bread are ready for you to enjoy!!!

I have found this recipe works very well for our family. Like many others, I have to make a few slight changes to get the consistency and results I am looking for, but after years of breadmaking, that no longer surprises me. Thank you for this recipe!

Made this today & it tastes amazing, & so soft!! I was looking for a quick, yeast bread recipe, & I found it with your recipe (I found you through YouTube). With the exception of using 2 tsp of salt vs the 1.5 called for, I made it per your directions & it turned out great. I highly recommend this recipe to anyone who wants to have a delicious loaf of bread on the table in a short amount of time. Well done & thank you for your recipe!! I look forward to trying some of your sourdough recipes!

This was so easy and so delicious, thank you so much! I used 630 grams flour, butter option and I also subbed 3/4 cup of milk of the 2 cups of warm water
