Easiest Beginner Yeast Bread Recipe! No Knead Batter Bread
Share
This No-Knead Batter Bread is truly the easiest beginner yeast bread recipe you’ll ever make. No kneading, no mixer, no fancy steps — just stir, rise, and bake! If you’ve ever wanted to make homemade bread but didn’t know where to start — this is it! 🥖
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups (295 g) warm water
- ¼ cup (57 g) melted butter
- 2 ½ cups (300 g) bread flour or all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons (25 g) sugar
- 1 teaspoon (6 g) salt
- 1 tablespoon (10 g) instant yeast
Instructions
1. Mix the batter:
In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix well until no dry patches remain — and then continue stirring vigorously for 2 minutes. This will help develop the gluten without kneading. The dough will look more like a thick batter than traditional bread dough.
2. First rise:
Cover the bowl and let the batter rise at room temperature for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until puffed and doubled in size.
3. Prepare the pan:
Grease an 8.5x4.5-inch or 9x5-inch loaf pan.
4. Stir down and fill:
Stir down the risen batter, then pour it into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
5. Second rise:
Let rise 20–30 minutes, or until the batter just peaks over the edge of the pan. If it overrises, the texture of the finished bread isn’t as good!
6. Bake:
Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for about 30 minutes, until golden brown.
Tip: If the bread begins to brown too quickly, gently lay a piece of foil over the top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
7. Cool:
Remove from the pan, cover with a tea towel, and let cool before slicing.
