This easy 4-ingredient no-knead peasant bread makes a larger loaf with just flour, water, salt, and yeast! No mixer, no Dutch oven, and no special equipment needed. Mix it in minutes and have fresh homemade bread in under 2 hours!
4 Ingredient No Knead Peasant Bread
4 cups flour (480 g) — all-purpose, bread, or fresh milled
2 teaspoon salt (12 g)
1Tbs instant yeast (9 g)
2 cups warm water (480 g)

- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and yeast. Add the warm water and mix until well combined.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for 1 to 1½ hours.
- Using your hands or a rubber spatula, gently pull the dough away from the sides of the bowl and gather it toward the center. Scoop the dough onto a pie plate, baking sheet, or any oven-safe baking vessel, including a glass bowl.
- Let the dough rise on the countertop while the oven preheats to 425°F (220°C).
- Once the oven is preheated, bake for 15 minutes. Without opening the oven door, reduce the temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until the loaf is golden brown.
- The bottom of the loaf should sound hollow when tapped.
