
Southern 20 Minute Biscuits! Flakey Homemade Biscuits Recipe

In this baking tutorial, I’ll show you how to make these flakey, homemade, southern buttermilk biscuits that you can make and have on the table in just 20 minutes from start to finish! This easy biscuit recipe has only 5 ingredients and makes fluffy, high rising, flaky and buttery biscuits that you’ll enjoy with breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
Robyn on the Farm’s 20 Minute Southern Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe
- 2.5 c All-Purpose flour
- 1 Tbs baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 stick (1/2 c) cold butter
- 1 cup buttermilk or 1 cup milk + 1 tsp vinegar
Combine first 3 ingredients and whisk together. Grate stick of butter with hand grater into the bowl and work into the flour mixture with a pastry cutter or knives until the butter is about pea sized. Pour in milk and mix until just wet. Hand knead dough on counter until combined. Roll out dough and cut with biscuit cutter or glass. Place on hot cast iron griddle, skillet, or cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes or golden. Enjoy your yummy biscuits
