Robyn on the Farm's 1 Hour Honey Wheat Bread Recipe
ย ย ย ย ย Ingredients:
- 3 c hot waterย
- 1/3 c honey or 1/2 c sugar (stir to dissolve)
- 1/3 c oil or butter
- 6 1/2-7 c whole wheat flour, or any combination (I used 5 c whole wheat flour, 2 c bread flour)
- 1 Tbs vital wheat gluten
- 1 Tbs dough enhancer
- 1 Tbs salt
- 1 Tbs yeast (active dry or instant)
Step by Step Instructions: Put all ingredients into bowl in order listed. Mix with an electric stand mixer for 8 minutes on speed 2. You dough should not stick to the sides/bottom of the bowl. If it is, add 1/4 c more flour until it pulls away from sides and bottom easily. Want to be able to handle the dough at the end of the kneading without it sticking to hands. Shape into 2 loaves and place into bread loaf pans. Heat oven to 350 for 1-2 minutes then turn off oven! Put loaves into warm oven and let rise for 20 minutes. Remove loaf pans and preheat oven to 350 degrees. Let bake for 30 minutes. Let cool before cutting...if you can wait! Enjoy! See the baking tutorial for more in-depth instructions.
